We have recently learned the magnitude of the earthquake, this night around
at 3:30, has shocked the features of central Italy. The most disconcerting
come from Abruzzo: thousands of buildings destroyed,
hospitals, churches and buildings in rubble. But the news is harder and colder
Abruzzo from the capital, comes from Piazza Pasquale Paoli:
the building that houses the student's home, a three-storey building,
is partially collapsed; all wing of the house has collapsed to the ground and some is
seriously injured. There are students,
students like us, under the rubble, seven, ten ... an unspecified number
, some still alive, we hope, others unfortunately do not.
How left-wing students express our heartfelt closeness
families from Abruzzo and especially to all students,
terrified by this heavy natural disaster. We would like to come on strong
our heartfelt hug and our support to those who, like us, living and studying
, often in dilapidated structures, often in unsafe places. At
same time, we arrived, the victims' families, our most
heartfelt condolences.
As often happens in Italy, after the tragedies, the palaces of power
open their eyes. As left-wing students
we can not condemn, once again, the strong policy
inattention to ensure, to the students, a real right to education,
comfortable and modern facilities that are able to support us in the path of
studies. Instead, the long and mobilization against the law 133
last autumn it is a clear demonstration
preferred the current government has drastically cut funding for universities and
support for the Right to Education. And here's what needs to attend.
